Yesterday we presented our final installation to Xerox and to RIT students and faculty. Overall it was a very successful event, Xerox seemed very pleased with our final product.

We spent Monday night getting set up, it took several hours to get the tracking to work and to prepare our space.
In the last couple of days, Koala Kollective has been busy wiring up the child robots with the yellow jacket arduino boards and LED bracelets.
Arduino – iPad communication
See our Ziva app communicate with the arduino’s using the database!!!

After 3 hours of getting Apple’s developer certificate to work on the school issued iPad, the developers were able to transfer the Ziva interface to the mobile device! Now that the interface is on the iPad, the developers can test the communication between the device, the arduino boards, and the server containing all the profile information. Of course the iPad is just the prototype that we will be presenting to get our concept idea across. In 2020, the actual Ziva interface would be on a thin flexible screen that can be rolled up for easy traveling.

First glance of Ziva on the iPad
Today our developers resumed working with the Ekahau RTLS now that the tags have been activated. To test location tracking, the developers created a scaled prototype of the map.

Over the weekend, we went to JoAnns to buy the rest of the supplies for our first child robot. On Sunday, we brought our supplies together to create the doll.
Child Robot Supplies:
- Muslin Fabric
- Polyester Refill Stuffing
- Buttons
- Yarn
- Wooden Pole
- Remote Control Car
It was interesting to build as none of us have created a doll before. However, with everyone’s hard work, we were able to create our first child robot!
